Today we celebrate Pentecost, the day of the amazing outpouring of the Holy Spirit. Shavuot as it is called in Hebrew is rich in meaning as a festival instituted by God in the Old Testament. This Feast of the Harvest reminds us of the the words of Jesus to His disciples that the fields are “white unto harvest” but the laborers are few. The greatest harvest of souls in history lies ahead. “But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit comes upon you. And you will be my witnesses, telling people about me everywhere—in Jerusalem, throughout Judea, in Samaria, and to the ends of the earth.” Acts 1:8 NLT
